How to Play Yukon Solitaire: The Ultimate Guide

Yukon Solitaire is a challenging and rewarding variant of classic Solitaire. Here’s everything you need to know to master Yukon!

Setup

Deck: Use a standard 52-card deck (no jokers).
Tableau: Deal seven columns. The first column gets one card, the second gets two, and so on up to seven. All cards in each column are dealt face-up except for the first card in columns 2-7, which are face-down.
No Stock: Unlike Klondike, Yukon has no stock or waste pile. All cards are dealt at the start.
Foundations: Four foundation piles, one for each suit, start empty and are built up from Ace to King.

Move all cards to the foundation piles, building each suit in ascending order from Ace to King.

Move Cards in the Tableau:
- Build tableau columns down in alternating colors (e.g., red 7 on black 8).
- You can move any group of face-up cards, regardless of sequence, as long as the top card fits the destination pile.
Expose Face-Down Cards:
- When you move cards and expose a face-down card, flip it over.
Empty Columns:
- Only Kings (or a valid sequence starting with a King) can be moved to an empty tableau column.
Build Foundations:
- Move Aces to the foundation piles as soon as possible.
- Build up by suit in ascending order (Ace, 2, 3, …, King).
Undo & Hints:
- Use undo to reverse moves and hints to find possible plays.

The game is won when all cards are moved to the foundation piles by suit, from Ace to King.

Plan ahead: moving groups of cards can open up new possibilities.
Focus on uncovering face-down cards early.
Use empty tableau columns wisely for Kings and sequences.
Don’t rush to move cards to the foundation—sometimes you’ll need them in the tableau.
